African Safari Pith Helmet Overview
The hat is made from the core (pith) of trees that grow in northern Vietnam. They are made one piece at a time--see the images at our Pith Helmets main page.This helmet has the same properties as the others piths we carry, that being light weight (the 4-ply wood interior is low-density-somewhat like balsa wood).The crown is 7 1/2" high.The front brim is 2 1/4 inches as the back brim is 2 1/2 inches. Both sides measure 2 inches in length.Immersible in water whereby the wearer stays cool as he/she hikes and the water evaporates.Genuine leather sweatband and chin strap.The underbrim is green.Color: Khaki.Size: Adjustable.Due to the handmade nature of the Pith Helmets, please be advised that there may be some minor imperfections in the construction of the hat. These imperfections should not hinder the look or the wear of the helmet.
